The next adoration practice will be sunday February 21 from 530-630.

In case you havent heard by now. Adoration for the month of February has been cancelled along with the 7pm mass. Enjoy the superbowl game! The next adoration session is set for Sunday March  6th. Continue to review 10,000 Reasons, Oceans, and Good Good Father for March!!!!

I hope everyone is having a great day! Here are updated chords for two of the songs. We are fortunate to have a guitar  player joining us so we had to take that instrument into consideration when choosing the choirs.

Dont forget adoration is this Sunday after the 7pm mass


We will be singing from the pews this time. After communion head up to the front right row where the portable piano will be set up.


We will be rehearsing Sunday from 5:30pm-6:30pm if you are able to join us that would be great.

Welcome to the official page for adoration at St. Patricks Church of Merna. This is where you can find up to date information regarding the adoration ensemble.



Leadership


My name is Matt Stewart and I am excited to be on the leadership team for this ensemble. I am currently a senior music education major at Illinois State University. I am excited to bring my love and joy for music and faith to the music team. Any questions you can contact me directly through email at mrstew2@ilstu.edu








What is adoration?

The Catholic faith teaches that Jesus is truly present with us in the Blessed Sacrament. The goal of this music ensemble is to provide a heightened prayer experience during adoration. Music can can be used as a powerful outlet in our prayer life.





What is the the adoration ensemble?


This ensemble is open to anyone! Trained musicians and beginners are welcome. We are looking for dedicated vocalists and instrumentalists to be apart of our ensemble. We are specifically looking to reach out to the youth of our church. Our goal is to rehearse once a week and adoration currently is held once a month on the first Sunday of the month, after the 7pm mass.



Our Goal....

Is to provide an outlet to build disciples in our church. We want to help build leaders within our youth. My hope is that an even greater youth community is built around our love for music.




Our music....


The goal is to provide a reflective and prayerful environment. Our music should add to the prayer experience and be inviting for everyone to join in. We strive to create our own unique sound but below is a video of an appropriate style of music that we are looking to create. This page will be a page in which we share appropriate musical selection.
